The Parish of Yealand Redmayne adopted a stretch ( about a mile long ) of the Canal, known as The Northern Reaches in 2016. They hope to improve the area, with Tidy Up Days, planting of bulbs, etc., enlisting the help of volunteers from the School and Village. A Lifebuoy is now installed; see below. Contact Mike Macklin or the Clerk if you wish to assist.
Please note that the 10th November 2018 improvement day has now been cancelled; it will taking place early Spring 2019, the date to be confirmed.
